given genius
It’s such an honour to know that being placed on planet earth means purpose was automatically given to me. Now of course there’s varying thoughts and beliefs of where we come from and why we’re here, but for the sake of this post I’m going at it from the angle of “purpose”.
No matter what your purpose might be, we all have one. Each and every one of us has some form of genius within that needs to be discovered and released. When we don’t use our natural talents, not only are we not living to our full potential, but we’re also not giving back to the universe what it put us on earth to do. Shine.
We all have different reasons for “hiding” our genius. Some may think they’re not good enough, while others may not enjoy the limelight. Those who “show and tell” are likely succeeding at what they love.
I recently read an all-too-true quote: “when we hide and try to be invisible and unseen by all, we are only really hiding from ourselves”. How true is that? I think it’s universally true that we are our own worst critics. The flaws and inadequacies we see in ourselves, more than likely go unseen by others. A leader isn’t someone “better” than you, it’s just someone willing to speak up above the crowd, and have something worthy of listening to.
There’s no such thing as being shy. That’s just another word for insecure. Which is another word for fearful. What do we have to fear really in life? Hurt feelings? You’ll recover. Failed attempts. You’ll learn from it and do better the next time.
When we know that all negative thoughts and actions stem from fear, it puts everything into perspective. It forces us to ask the question “why are we scared”, and if you’re willing to face the answer and take the challenge on …you’ll master this thing called life.
Don’t hoard or hide your given genius. Let it shine …cause when you do, that light will guide you down your correct and fulfilling path.
