Tire Biters
Yeah you know who you are ladies, and no, I’m not here to judge. I too use to start every conversation with the all-too-common phrase: “what do you do” followed immediately by “what do you drive”? Oh yesteryear, that era in which I expected so much, and offered so little.
Why do we women gauge a mans worth based on the vehicle he drives? Yes I understand the correlation between a nice vehicle and potential financial security, but the key word here is POTENTIAL security.
Do you know how many men are “car rich, money poor”? Ok, well I don’t have exact figures…but the truth of the matter is – it’s MANY…too many (I know ‘em :p)! Let’s be honest. The majority of what we do in life is to impress others. From the cars we drive, to the labels we wear …it’s a status symbol, a show of our worth, and clearly also used as bait to reel in a few suckers.
Are our value meters so stunted that things such as love, commitment, and trust get overlooked for a bountiful present collection?
I entirely agree that financial stability is very important for the female folk, but ladies…please check your own credit card statement before you start judging a man on his inability to spring you out of debt jail.
If I may take the liberty of spinning a famous quote: “Ask not what men can do for you, but what you can do for yourself”!
