Tire Biters

Picture 14

Yeah you know who you are ladies, and no, I’m not here to judge. I too use to start every conversation with the all-too-common phrase: “what do you do” followed immediately by “what do you drive”? Oh yesteryear, that era in which I expected so much, and offered so little.

Why do we women gauge a mans worth based on the vehicle he drives? Yes I understand the correlation between a nice vehicle and potential financial security, but the key word here is POTENTIAL security.

Do you know how many men are “car rich, money poor”? Ok, well I don’t have exact figures…but the truth of the matter is – it’s MANY…too many (I know ‘em :p)! Let’s be honest. The majority of what we do in life is to impress others. From the cars we drive, to the labels we wear …it’s a status symbol, a show of our worth, and clearly also used as bait to reel in a few suckers.

Are our value meters so stunted that things such as love, commitment, and trust get overlooked for a bountiful present collection?

I entirely agree that financial stability is very important for the female folk, but ladies…please check your own credit card statement before you start judging a man on his inability to spring you out of debt jail.

If I may take the liberty of spinning a famous quote: “Ask not what men can do for you, but what you can do for yourself”!

The art of multi dating

Picture 10

Multi dating is a great way to peruse the prospects without investing too much emotion in any one person. Some would argue that you’re just going to end up investing feelings in multiple people, but from my experience, if you know how to separate reality from fiction it’s all good.

Reality is made up of things which are substantial, or can be substantiated. Such as; what a person does for a living, their lifestyle including hobbies and interests, family, friends, where they’re at in life in terms of being ready for, or wanting a relationship…and if so, what kind. Whereas fiction is what romance novels talk about…steamy makeout sessions, the quick high of a great dating activity, attraction (not to be mistaken for chemistry) …and all that other “mushy” stuff which doesn’t have lasting value, but is the fluff which often creates the feelings.

That’s why I think multi dating is a viable, and valuable tool to finding the person with the fewest deal breakers for you personally. So if you’re tackling the dating scene one human at a time, consider doubling your odds and throwing a few more potentials into the mix. Honesty is key however, don’t hoard the hunnies and expect those you date to be singularly “yours”. There’s enough to go around boys and girls…play nice! :)

The Gap

Picture 6

It’s an entirely common reality that younger women date (much) older men in this day and age. Now judge as you may for why they would do such things, but the reasons vary slightly from gold digger to gold digger.

Now ladies don’t get your panties in a bunch, there are a sprinkling few that actually fall in love with grandpa, or some other daddy figure legitimately. I understand. And yes, we as women just want to feel secure as it’s part of our nature…I get that. But when is the gap too gaping, and the age difference too great?

With 50 being the new 40, could a 30 year old pass as an appropriate date for that individual? Hmm, some would beg to say no…but beggars can’t be choosers and perhaps “said beggar” is just jealous of old rich men. (insert giggles here)

At the end of the day I guess the truth of the matter is – if the stiletto fits, find the other one and tromp proudly in your pretty heels. After all…sugar daddy paid for them and your debt free!
