….AND THE WINNER IS!

Fabulous fun was had hosting the “Party Like a Rockstar” contest, and the winner was a well deserving, amazing sport… Shannon E. This 30-something single gal is a recent resident to the Tri Cities area, and after a year in the dating game, as well as losing 40′odd pounds, she signed up for her hopeful overhaul – and won!

Thanks to the the Chop Shops’ Master Stylist: Susan. As well as makeup artist extraodinaire: Lucy (Granville location). Both gals pulled off Shannon’s elegant transformation with ease and style!

Also, thank you to SunScape Tanning for Shannon’s perfect glow. Mystic Tan… the “next-day” way to get a hint of colour!

In addition, Modus Personal Training is geared and ready to go for Shannon’s consultation to perfect her already-sculpted physic.

Lastly, Designed for Dating had such fun in choosing her shimmer-sexy champaign dress, which came second of course to her rockin’ heels – of which she balanced on perfectly – boat, waves, cocktails and all!

…so again, thanks be to all and I look forward to our next event :)

Cheers,
Lana.

Stop trying and just BE…

One thing I’m not trying to do is turn “potentials” into “wanna be’s”. Rather I want to inspire people to discover their true strengths. And portray their best traits The only way I can do that is if people are honest with themselves and with me. The only way they can do that is to stop trying and just BE.

There’s such a thing as “quiet power” as contradictory as it sounds. Being a powerful, dynamic individual is not about shouting your authority to the masses, rather it’s the ability to shine and exude confidence without arrogance or demand.

Too many people think that being a leader is controlling those around them and making others see and believe their point of view, when truly – the best and bravest leader is one who can SERVE the ones around them. Share don’t shove your thoughts, more listening and learning…less dictating and distraction from truth.

With age comes a certain comfort and appreciation for the gift and “glory” of who you are as a person. One should aim for presence and countenance as this counts for more and is usually backed by character and a persona.

There’s a great quote which goes:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we
are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most
frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing
enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around
you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us;
it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give
other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own
fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

If you reflect back to you’re brightest moment as a child, this will often reveal to you your truest self, and that which you’re most capable of. Your gifts, talents and personality BEFORE it was tainted by outward perceptions and based on pleasing (outward) instead of presence (inward). Bring those two things together and you’ll be an unstoppable force!

In the end I want to know that I lived consciously, loved sacrificially and shared openly and without expectation of converting or contorting anyone. We all make mistakes…and hopefully, learn from them.

For life is truly about progress not perfection!

Sink, Swim or SOAR?!

Life should not be about whether you sink or swim, but rather if you SOAR!

I wanted to add a section to my site which may or may not get read, but regardless I wanted to add depth to the “character” which is Designed for Dating.

I’m a thinker and a feeler, and I believe that my dating life has been so successful based on being able to challenge people to do the same. Often people just go through the motions in life and aren’t able to see things past their own reality. Once they have someone to remove the blinders and expand their horizons they get addicted to this “new world order” lol…ok, that’s taking it a little far, but you get my point.

So yes, this is the section where the shi* gets deep and candid. After all, if my aim is to help y’all reach new depths in dating, grasp your own personal sense of style and appearance, and all things “other”…I have to bring reality to the table. “Freak your freak” so to speak ;)

So many of us live safe lives, mostly due to survival reasons, but some because – once again – they’ve never been challenged to look outside their Yaletown condo or suburban lifestyle.

I urge you…seek to have people in your life who hold you accountable and challenge you, not people who merely flatter you. Fate is not determined by chance, but rather it’s when preparedness meets circumstance. Flattery doesn’t prepare you…it should actually appall you.

Life will only bring you as much as you can handle.
Lessons in life will be presented as many times as it takes for you to learn and accomplish them.
Love…well, love is often misunderstood by those seeking to find it. Because truly love is a gift you give away. It doesn’t look for what it can GET but rather what it can GIVE.
